    Asymptomatic spread a myth?

    in ACTIVISM

Common sense that you only need to quarantine if you are I'll with symptoms and healthy people with no illness don't need to do this. One of the justifications used for draconian lockdowns is there is a danger asymptomatic people can carry the disease. I have wondered if this is true because the idea of asymptomatic carriers is a convenient tool for lockdown zealots and if this idea didn't exist the current narrative would be difficult to sustain. Does anyone feel asymptomatic carriers is a myth. If this idea didn't exist governments would have the following issues -

    1) It would be much harder to frighten people as asymptomatic people would not worry they may be carrying a disease or other asymptomatic people could spread the disease to them. If the idea of asymptomatic carriers exist people will worry they could carry the disease and anyone could spread the disease to them regardless of whether they show symptoms.

    2) It would be impossible to justify draconian lockdowns where everyone is placed under quarantine even if they are healthy and show no symptoms.

    3) It would not be possible to tell people they should social distance and not gather in groups etc if asymptomatic people have no fear of spreading the disease.
