Lawyers visiting Keep Britain Free or people firm on laws and whatever comes with it
I don't have any knowledge on the above but therefore am collecting ideas and air them so someone can pick them up to help!
On the back of this post:
A couple of lawyers in Germany are supporting this group with legal advice and have put information up on social media. Obviously this is to no help for UK business. Nonetheless I have translated one letter so that someone, who is able to help, can provide the British equivalent so that business owners can arm themselves with information.
Attached a translated letter from a lawyer with points to those who consider opening up their business:
The campaign was started on the 02.01.2021 as a "I am opening" and within hours turned into a "We are opening". On the 6th a survey was put out on social media asking who would open and who would support. Result after 7 hours:
3.200 Business open up
24.000 Consumer will support by shopping
===============
Idea to support the above:
Again, those who have legal experience are asked here to see if this is translatable to the UK:
In Germany anyone who wants can found a political party. 4 people, of which two lawyers, have gone ahead and established a party to start creating a base. Then they've called out to business owner & their supporters to create their own parties. In a sense a "sub-party" using the original title of the originators and then continue with their location / business name / etc as extension. Eventually they are looking into merging all these groups to one party.
This for the following reason:
Wikipedia on party privilege (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parteienprivileg):
The party privilege of Article 21 of the Basic Law endows political parties in Germany with a heightened guarantee of protection and existence because of their special significance for parliamentary democracy. In particular, Article 21 (4) GG places the decision on the unconstitutionality of a political party exclusively in the hands of the Federal Constitutional Court. Until the decision of the Federal Constitutional Court, the constitutionality of the party is to be assumed. In this respect, this decision is of constitutive importance.
⛔ A prohibition order based on Art. 9 (2) GG, § 3 VereinsG by the executive is inadmissible.
Which was suggested to use as another backbone to open up restaurants, pubs, bars, shops etc, since one could use this as an argument. "We are open since we are holding a party meeting to ..." Every day with a new point of program for as long as necessary and while holding the meetings one could go ahead and have a meal.
A further suggestion was that, if one isn't allowed to cook & serve in the premise, the kitchen could open to do take away, but to support the neighbouring restaurant / pub etc the group, holding the political meeting, could order the take away down the road and vice versa.
Those who don't have a hospitality place could still open and if someone during the political meeting should see something that is for sale, the could then e-mail the order (apparently there are QR codes that link to e-mails?) to the shop and then pick up and pay at the door as currently required, when there are no ongoing meetings.
Let your imagination run wild and save your livelihood.
I will be roaming the roads as soon as I know this is gaining track to support those who have to courage to face this injustice.
Well done . If everyone opened up this would all end in a day .
