Hello. Thought it an idea to follow one or two others in creating a post for my local area. This thread can hopefully be used to update those of us in east Kent with any useful information such as shops to support and any other activism local to us.
So far I've nothing to include, but hopefully that will change!
DH
It looks like there are 5 of us so far:
@Dylan Lovelock
@Venetia Carpenter
@Martin Murray
@#Plandemic#Plandemic
It would certainly be good to arrange something if people are willing. Could arrange a meet up next week to discuss.
Good work Derbert, I'm up for it. From tiny acorns... You guys can call me Pete. 😀 But I'll answer to anything and #Plandemic is fine, of course.
Excellent. I could be available to meet and discuss plans with people during an evening next week. I'll check my rota. Thanet could work as that seems to be good for some. What is everyone's availability?
I seem to have availability every day. I haven't worked since March. Thanet is a bit of a trek from Medway, so if Whitstable or Faversham (or even Herne Bay) could work for other people, I'd welcome it but I can manage Thanet if that's what is decided. I used to go to salsa dancing classes in Broadstairs regularly until a few years ago (but was living in Canterbury then). Any motorbike riders amongst you? I need new like-minded biker friends.
Whitstable, Faversham or Herne Bay are fine by me. Let's see if that works for @Venetia Carpenter @Martin Murray @Dylan Lovelock
That would be great, however I can't make a meet up for a couple of weeks sorry, but after that would be fine.- @#Plandemic#Plandemic we can have a bike related chat at the same time, I'm bikeless atm tho' :(
I see Derbert has made a post for East Kent in the new 'Local Groups' section of the website, which might be a better place. But I wanted to remember how to navigate back here. Remember "Activism" > "East Kent" to find your way back here. I'd be up for a meet-up next week but I'm thinking that we probably need less than up to 50-60 miles between individuals and am wondering about starting a West Kent section in the 'Local Groups' forum. A coordinated effort will achieve more when it's easier to get together. What does the team think?
Agree. Kent is rather large!
Hey Guys,
Did you meet? I live in Kent near Tunbridge Wells and would love to meet like minded people
Hi Milly
I have been quiet on here but have put one or two bits on LinkedIn. I live near Cranbrook and therefore suspect that we do live near each other.
No, I got busy manning the protest pen and making up banners etc. I think it really needs people in the same town, or at least nearby to be able to make a difference. Unfortunately, despite the ever-increasing draconian measures coming out of government, we are still very few in number as far as I can tell.
