I have the germ of an idea that I invite others to add to. Let me know what you think.
As you may be aware of, Armistice day has been cancelled. Now I don't normally attend these things, I have my own reasons for this but I am appalled that even this freedom is being denied us, for those who do want to do the remembrance parades etc.
I first thought that vets should don their berets at least and attend as normal despite these bans but then I thought that maybe two of three guys at some of the smaller memorials will soon be arrested.
So, as an act of defiance against this ban, I thought of holding our own parades, but in one central area - the obvious place is London but that is not necessarily the best place. My mind sees a whole load of vets, hopefully in their thousands, paying their respects at a memorial. The authorities cannot arrest all of us, especially if it is registered as a protest. The people will be on our side and I wonder if this would inspire such future events.
What do you think?
Great stuff - good luck!
Agreed @stevehabberley. I’ve sent a message to David Ellis and I think we should try to get in touch with ‘veterans for Britain’ or some such. We should march to the Cenotaph being as it’s the centenary of the thing! No?
Great idea. I just received a charity appeal for the "limbless" vets - how they are being betrayed by this sham of a Government! If at all possible they should all be contacted and protest. UkColumn are in touch with some - maybe they could help locate them. I can't seem to get on their website to email them - can somebody else try? The other protest is from 11.11. Everybody try and wear white on that day to signify our solidarity.
