Ever since this started I have been doing my own research. I. Noticed a few weeks in that the supermarket staff were no longer scared and not really distancing. So I started asking routinely whether anyone from their store has got ill. Not one person working in my local tesco, sainsbury, aldi or waitrose has got ill. The know it's bollocks
Exactly right Adrian. If this was all real then thousands of shop workers would have caught it during the peak, as everyone had to go food shopping at some point during lockdown.
I have asked all the way through in all the regular shops that I use. Not one person has got ill in any of the shops. In the butchers that I use (yes, lucky to have an independent butchers) one of the guys and his wife were pretty ill back in January but not since. I was also ill in January and I know of others too, including one guy who ended up in hospital with pneumonia - all came through unscathed though. I therefore think that that was the more dangerous time to be out and about when the virus was doing its rounds (although only dangerous for a few). I have also been told by somebody who works at a test centre locally that there are no cases in this area. So, nothing in my area of Kent!
Venetia Carpenter - No virus where I live either, but still we are forced to comply with this silly mask nonsense. Hopefully more shopkeepers will start to see sense and not enforce it, especially if they start to lose business.
A young lad who works in One Stop and another I know who works at a small animal charity shop have both told me that shops will get fined as well as the non-mask wearers for non-compliance. That's why they are so zealous in enforcing this. Nowhere have I seen in legislation that shops who fail to enforce the rules will be fined. Can anybody else shine a light on this please?
McDonald’s said takeaway customers will need to wear face coverings but those who eat in the restaurant will not. How does that make any kind of sense common or otherwise. It's crap food anyway.
Police have already said they won’t be enforcing the wearing of masks in shops.
I just had to laugh. In the comments of this Sun article someone wrote:
"The police have set up an emergency phone number for Liberals to report non compliant Far Right extremist shoppers for not wearing masks. It's 666".
Most of the comments by the general public to this article leaned heavily towards that the wearing of muzzles makes no sense at all.
Thanks Busker - I never go to ALDI. They keep putting up thousands of huge corrugated sheds everywhere. Not only are they ruining the look of the place, ALDI are trying to take over the whole marketplace. I will give Sainsburys a go. They have been very nice to me the last 2 times I went in to ask about masks.
If there is some kind of security on the door, then simply show it to them.
If they ask you for evidence or ask you what your disability is, inform them they are committing an offence by asking you as laid down in The Disability Discrimination Act of 2010 and if they continue, you will call the police and have them arrested.
If they refuse you entry, call the police.
When the police arrive, explain the situation. You do not have to tell the police what your disability is but make it clear you want the guard arrested.
Film all of this.
If all of this gets scuppered then got to here and cursor down to 3. and screenshot it, making sure you get the phrase 'if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause you severe distress'
I think we can ascertain by you taking the time to protect every GODDAMNED INDIVIDUAL LIFE ON Earth ......that this situation is causing you 'severe distress'.
Only by playing these cunning, evil, satanic, psychotic, would-be-despots at their own game, can you hope to be the light that illuminates the way for the rest of the sheeple.
The nice lady at Sainsburys customer service actually gave me a disability lanyard! Said if any member of staff or member of the public gave me any grief, she would sort them out. What a good person to stand up for her customers. I'm going to try my luck at Sainsburys first. Maybe we can have name and shame posts for the goodies and baddies in all of this mask fiasco.
I'd be careful of accepting any 'lanyard' or anything else that distinguishes you as being different as this probably would be perceived as contravening the Disability Discrimination Act (I realise they're just trying to be helpful). But you don't need their 'privileges'. It is your 'right' not to wear a mask. If as a society we were not so ignorant (myself included....I'm only just discovering this stuff as I thought it was automatically understood), we wouldn't have to be pretending to be 'disabled' just to meet their 'severe distress' criteria.
DO NOT BEGIN TO ACCEPT THIS IS THE NEW NORMAL
I'm sorry if all this sounds like I'm preaching (my wife and daughter have just gone out for lunch with her sisters /aunties as a belated 18th present and she instructed me to listen to some music today.......).
Maybe we are all going loop the loop. But it seems as clear as day where all this is heading. Remember 4 months ago we were told on the 23rd March, lockdown would be 3 weeks.......how long will masks be? That's why they need opposing now and the whole system of policing of them (by security guards /shops /police) needs to be brought to its knees.........otherwise.......mark my words.
The next thing will be :
MASKS TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES IN AND OUT OF THE HOME.
So it seems to me that all we have to do is state that an exemption applies to us - no need give any reason, or show any card/lanyard/doctor's note.
Interestingly, they've finally updated the section that (even as late as a day or so ago) said 'the evidence of the benefit of using a face covering to protect others is weak and effect is likely to be small' to state 'There is growing evidence that wearing a face covering in an enclosed space helps protect individuals and those around them'. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/shops-and-branches
BUT: there is no mention of or links to the sources of this 'evidence'. If they want us to accept and comply with such a draconian, intrusive measure, the least they can do is show us the evidence (assuming it actually exists).
Sars-cov2 is allegedly 120 nanometers wide - a medical facemask has holes that are 3000 nanometers wide, cloth masks much larger. So it's kinda like trying to stop a basketball with a mesh the size of the channel tunnel.
East of England Co-Op in Combs Ford and another in Elmswell. One had security guy on the door. Waved me in. The second one had no secuirty on door. No challenge from staff. Easy peesy. The only thing was I was the only customer not wearing a muzzle except a couple of under 10s. One lady was wearing a scarf over her mouth but not her nose.. very disappointed at the absence of other fellow non-muzzled human beings but early days I guess.
Sainsburys West Norwich has a polite notice on the entrance door I walked in with no mask this morning and no one peeped a sound. We should never ever regard ourselves as being "disabled", not even those of us that have health or physical limitations on what we can realistically do. We are only labelled disabled by a centralised authority that has unilaterally decided to split us up into this group or that and then, again, unilaterally decide how we should be treated and regarded. The whole idea of systems does indeed need a reset, but most definately NOT the kind of reset that's trying to be sold to us.
Regarding muzzles or anything else, we are being disabled only by the denial of our freedom of rational informed choice and by being what we are, human, by the few that by some absurd reasoning consider themselves superior. That doesn't mean we should regard ourselves as being victims though, it simply brings sharply and painfully to our attention that, for much longer than most of us are aware, these few among us are trying to impose and realise their ideas of how they think humanity should be.
Such alot of previously hidden and very disturbing truths are being thrown to the surface by what is happening now, because these few among us are either getting cocky or desparate to push foreward with their ideas. I've said it before elsewhere, we are all just an "us" and, like it or not, that includes this few. Natural balance will always assert itself.
This was just me thinking instictively on my feet (sitting down:), inspired by what Alan Butterworth said above. I don't think I've said anything new, but it sure did me good to say it.

First off it had my name and address on it. ER, right.....so along with my Medical Records which have long ago been sent to GCHQ (and dispersed online to their interconnected governmental operations locally as well as nationally) they are now after seeing whether I am a Dissenter or not?
So they want to know on a scale of 1 to 5 how I feel about how:

would you support a 'frontline service award' payment £29/day to NHS staff and careworkers? like our country does for the military on active duty?
do you think the UK should work to become a hub for science and medicine so we can lead the fight against future pandemics?
Then they move on to ''supporting high streets'' (ie forcing us all to shop online and turn us into a cashless society - my view in this bracket):
when all shops are open are you more or less likely to use local high streets (or neither)
are there any businesses you feel deserve recognition for their work? those who went above and beyond during the p(l)andemic
what would make you make more purchases locally: LOCAL (Agenda 21??my thought) loyalty card scheme; visual improvements ie more flowers less litter; better accessibility for all users; other pls specify (I asked for No Mask shopping slots)
Then we get onto 'our community' section:
asking me if I am aware of community support grps?, have i received support? and have I volunteered to offer it? (ie made myself useful because we are dealing with a central Govt scoring system being built up here - imo - to discover if I am an entirely useless eater or not as I am on their Vulnerables hit list). Ok so then they ask me about my details and for email/phone and how I'd like to be contacted in future

Same in Scotland. I am often if not always the only one without a mask. I really don't like shopping anymore, I feel so anxious and uncomfortable it's unreal

SHAME SHAME SHAME on Aldi or any other shop enforcing this truly absurd rule.
Tesco is more than a little contradictory and confusing on this though isn't it.

Agreed, good points well made. Furthermore, I've just had a look at the 'guidelines' which state that carrying an exemption card or similar is "a personal choice and not necessary in law". https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own
So it seems to me that all we have to do is state that an exemption applies to us - no need give any reason, or show any card/lanyard/doctor's note.

And here is a link to the CDC research covering the period 1946 - 2018 that shows that there is no benefit in wearing a mask during a pandemic - https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/5/19-0994_article
Sars-cov2 is allegedly 120 nanometers wide - a medical facemask has holes that are 3000 nanometers wide, cloth masks much larger. So it's kinda like trying to stop a basketball with a mesh the size of the channel tunnel.

Went to Blyth service station in the A1 and was refused entry into the shop, another person was told to leave. I'm glad I hadn't already put in fuel.
To lighten the mood of today perhaps....
Shoplifters can now legally mask themselves. They must think all their Christmases have come at once. All that expensive CCTV becomes useless.

Exactly. Why should I have to play this game to enter a shop?
It should be obvious that I am alive.
It follows that I breathe
Which means I need oxygen
And I need to expel carbon dioxide
Wearing a mask is an impediment to breathing and my necessary intake of oxygen and the essential need to remove the carbon dioxide from my system
Therefore being alive = being exempt from wearing a face mask
Does anyone ask me if I am human or maybe an unaccompanied canine when I enter a shop?
No,that should be obvious.
That's why we should refuse to play their game
Tell them no and let them kick you out.
If enough of us do that and we broadcast this on the internet, maybe the shop owners might think more carefully about challenging us on entry.
This is about our right to choose
About standing up and declaring you are free and sovereign.
We should note that we are the ones with the power
A shop with no footfall will eventually close down.
That's why they had been making it pleasant for people to enter their premises - to attract customers
Somehow, amongst this mass hysteria, retailers have forgotten their mission statement - get people in and sell them stuff.
Now that's been replaced by OBEY THE GOVERNMENT!
And the gov doesn't even have the decency to be consistent
So one day is go here
The next day is no, we've changed our minds - go there now
And so on and so forth
And the whole country is being steered into the rocks
But that was the plan all along ......
Will the sleeping masses finally wake up when they lose their livelihoods?
It will be too late by then.
Totally agree . But also in addition to the human quality you mention I think there might be a future problem arising out of self declaring disabled if you are not. First nasty person I have seen on here. Bot or Paid 77th Brigade. Sent in by Soros, the white Supremacist running BLM
Went to Iceland and Tescos this afternoon and in both shops I was the only one without a mask. Very worrying that all are complying. I had no issues with anyone thought so that was good
Same in Scotland. I am often if not always the only one without a mask. I really don't like shopping anymore, I feel so anxious and uncomfortable it's unreal
