I have been thinking about things and I keep seeing the 'peaceful' protests, which I completely agree with in every way but after seeing the Police charging, goading and trying everything within their power to create problems, I began to think in a 'different' light.
Now I fully agree that if things can be sorted peacefully, so much the better but I am seeing our country being plunged into deeper and deeper darkness. In fact it almost mirrors the period between the two wars in Germany, with the result that a dictator eventually gained power and started to impose impossible edicts on certain groups of the population, with increasing barbarity and with devestating effects worldwide (sounding familiar yet?)
These are my thoughts. When in 1939, this country had seen enough of this German guy persecuting most of Europe, we tried to reason with him, he had none of it. In fact our prime minister of the time was shown waving pieces of paper, claiming 'peace in our time' and effectively did everything he could to appease the German leader.
A little later it was decided that appeasement never works.
We, as a country decided that violence was the only answer left and we went to war. This tends to be quite violent!
Now, bringing things up to date, we are allowing a very similar regime, albeit using much more subtle techniques but still achieving similar results - the oppression of the people, causing death and miser, through lies and deceit and for no reason other than to achieve total power over the population.
This is my question:
Why did the people accept that we had to go to war in 1939 to stop such a regime in another country but when this self same regime is adopted in our own country, we complain about it, even protest and March to show our disapproval but under no circumstances is it being considered to use force to stop this regime.
Why is using force to protect ourselves and our way of life so wrong?
How long do we allow this to continue, ie do we wait for the 'showers' to be built?
We are already being threatened with camps that are up and ready, prepared for the people who refuse to comply with the government
What does it take before the 'Bulldog' comes out in us British people. History has already shown us where this ends, when do we put a stop to it by fighting back?
Are we all now so polite that we don't want to upset our leaders by telling them where to get off whilst they are continuing to rub our nose in the proverbial s**t?
Think back to the Poll tax issues. The ONLY time we as people of our country were taken seriously is when we fought back. Then it all changed!
People, we need to start fighting back. History proves this over and over again. Appeasement does not work.
Mary the Mother of our Lord appeared in Fatma telling us to amend our lives and to pray, to pray the rosary so the errors of Russia do not spread all over our world. She did not name the errors of Russia but Marx was close to the devil as his books show. Since the fall of communism, Russia has opened rebuild, repaired and built new churches to the tune of 3 a week making tens of thousands of churches. under communism, Christianity was barely tolerated and Christians were PERSECUTED and killed. In Lourdes our Lady appeared to St Bernadette. She even appeared to St james, when she was actually alive in Romes when she was in Nazareth. Our Lady of the Pillar. For 40 years, she has been appearing in Medjugorje in the former Yugoslavia· So buy a beautiful Rosary that you will love, get it blessed and asked the old Irish ladies for some help and practise in saying it. There are pamphlets and you tube videos too. The Rosary is aka the scourge of satan, the weapon, a sword. Really praying it is advised. Live celibately unless in an authentic marriage and get to confession and the mass but if you are not RC, Anglicans say it too. Make a pilgrimage to Walsingham in North of norfolk.
When you go to confession and mass and say the Rosary, living celibately or in an authentic marriage, then you should know about your faith. I mean you will take off and get a lot of prayers answered. Please ask for spiritual things but also a job, a loan, reconciling with somebody, other people's well being, a gas cooker for a hard up neighbour.
I will quote a member of my local Sussex group who said," We don't need prayers we need PITCHFORKS!".
Ursula Riches - You keep to your faith and bless you my dear. ❤️
@Sheila Jacklin - I agree with you. However faith in one's religion has helped a lot of people in these cruel times and kept them going when there's nothing else. For some it's all they have. For me, it's my cats. I really wish I had Ursula's faith. Unfortunately I lost all mine a long time ago. I just wake up angry every morning and go to bed angry at night.
stevenhabberly - Appeasement works at the moment as 90% of the people are siding with Government unfortunately. You mentioned the Poll Tax. The Government changed tack as the majority of the population were against it and the protests were huge! I was prepared to go to jail rather than pay it. Not enough fighting back at the moment, either by protesting or mass non-compliance. This war doesn't need to be won by violence, all it needs is the mass of the British population to say " NO we're not having it." There would be absolutely nothing the Government could do. Can't see it happening though. Yes I was appalled by the police actions on Saturday. As with the Piers Corbyn arrests, this has been orchestrated by somebody up on high, not the 'foot soldiers'. Same in Nazi Germany 'I was only doing my job', when they herded the Jews to the gas chamber. The more people protest, the heavier handed the police will get sadly. History repeats itself again and again as nobody ever learns!
I love hymns and singing hymns at protests, particularly some of the hymns which would be most appropriate could really lift us, help us and change the deep felt attitudes of the police, changing their hearts and DISARMING them. There are a lot of good songs too. We need composers to compose great songs for us. They should be rallying, inspiring and not overly agressive but maybe have an angry chorus?
