Folks I think we need to be realistic that what the government is doing is probably lawful. Our best route of challenge is not via the courts but via the political system. Even if a court case succeeded, it would be on a narrow point of law that could be changed.
We need political change.
Somehow we have to unite everyone behind the KBF aims to support one party.
We've seen before that 25% of the country supporting a new party can have serious influence.
Let's start a new party focused on restoring our freedoms and civil liberties, reversing the fear in our communities and giving a voice to the significant minority who haven't been fooled by the propaganda.
I'm in complete agreement, political pressure is the best option. I've been considering this for some time now. It seems to me though that national state governments are subject to higher powers, such as the UN, WHO(offshoot of UN), and of course the markets aka big business.
The promotion of this pandemic, and consequent lockdown restrictions, with their devastating economic consequences, are just the latest symptom of a global tyranny, which seems to be leading the entire planet into further division and devastation.
We need a new kind of politics, one which whilst transcending the limits of nation states, continues to support their individual identities. One with a common set of values which recognises such basic human needs, as food, water, shelter, health, and education; the stuff of civilisation.
If we continue as individuals, putting our crosses on ballot papers, voting for our individual nation governments, we are as powerless against the true global powers, as were individual workers, against land and factory owners, before the formation of unions.
I think we need a GLOBAL DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC.
I also think we should work towards getting rid of elected representatives, as being only human, they are vulnerable to corrupt influence, so therefore unreliable.
Whilst this would be an enormous undertaking, it requires nothing more than the will of the people. It could be our New World Order if we just set aside our differences and come together for the common good.
I agree that political change is desirable, but perhaps following both approaches would be best. Starting a new political movement from scratch must surely be a huge challenge. It worked in the most recent case you have in mind because there was already massive traction after their referendum victory. That said, the sooner we start, the sooner we get somewhere.
@Alan Higham Well, sounds good and I would definitely support and vote, although the reality is bleak.
Unless we do have a European style proportional system any new party will simply not succeed other than leach a few votes from main parties and perhaps swing some seats.
Best example would be the Brexit party, despite theoretical over 52% support for the cause they haven't managed to secure a single MP but put enough fear into the conservative party to put their point across.
