I am going to be at my local memorial this Sunday to pay my respects and to apologise to those names on the memorial because they gave it all for the fight against facism and we simply let it flourish without lifting a finger.
I give fair warning that I will be there and should anyone try to stop me paying my respects to fallen brothers in arms. they will find their name added to those on the memorial. On second thoughts, they do not deserve to be listed on such a monument unless there is a traitors section. Apologies for the rant people!
I’ll be at mine for sure
No apologies needed Steve. I'm sure a lot of us feel the same.
All- put a poppy in the window, those you have for the front of your car work well.
Love that idea, it fits in with everything, maybe you could start a whole trend. We should all spread the idea
@stevehabberley Done Steve, have posted it on this forum, as RD isn't till 11th Nov. any good posting it on FB etc?
@TwinkleToes I have put it all over Twitter. I don't have a fb account
Good idea twinkle, I havent been able to see any poppies to buy this year :( but me and kids will draw some and stick in window today - and keep them there until we win. Never did the rainbow *spit* but love this idea as it has true meaning. Xx
@stevehabberley me and kids will be doing same as you xx
A A Great idea and involves the family in the spirit of something worthwhile. Enjoy!
@stevehabberley Well said.
I have attended the remembrance service (or stopped to pay my respects if working) every year since I have been old enough to attend on my own.
This year will be no different.
They can stick their social distancing and dispersal orders where the sun don't shine.
"Lest We Forget" has never been more significant
It’s so sad. im so sick of hearing the Queen or her like talking about these people ,calling them hero’s , they don’t give a shit in reality. World war 1 , I mean that was just the rich sending out the working class to get a few inches of ground . it’s always the same , brainwash the poor train them to fight and then when they come back from wars with mental health issues etc etc they let them rot . And we the public are asked to give donate money to help these injured soldiers because the powers that be want to spend there money on more arms to keep these wars going ,
The whole world is at war ,well nearly
NEW DELHI:The world is becoming an increasingly dangerous place, concludes the latest Global Peace Index that notes that we are now further away from world peace than at any time in the past 10 years, and now only ten countries in the world remain free of war - internal or external.
it’s utter fuckery . The world needs to,change ,must be a better way for us to live instead we let these power mad lunatics dominate our society......
You're so right Xena, I'm especially scared for my boys and you explain why succinctly.
I'm pleased to say that there was a great turnout at our Remembrance service.
Yes, the Police and covid wombles were out, but I think they realised they weren't going to stop people paying their respects.
Good, ive seen quite a few vids across country of ppl doin the same. There was about 20 at mine.
This is disgusting. There is no words I can think of to describe my feelings on this. The piece of sh*t that pushed the piper should be eating his dinner through a straw by now.
@stevehabberley this piper should never have been thrown to the ground like that no matter what (well unless he actually attacked the police man)- but, if you look at the vid it does look like the piper deliberately turned and walked into that policeman?? Am I missing something?
@Gery W I saw that too but even if that was the case, he did not deserve to be thrown across the street. The policeman ONLY had to hold him and stop him going any further, there was enough of them there to control one middle aged guy playing the bagpipes. There was NO excuse for that action at all. The policeman should have been arrested and as normal nothing happens to them, instead the guy gets arrested because he retaliated against the assault. Not sure if you remember the newspaper seller that was filmed being hit by a policeman in Trafalgar square (I think it was a G20 summit or something)? A policeman was actually filmed whacking this OAP, who was going home after spending the day selling newspapers. The guy died from his injuries yet NO action whatsoever was taken against the police. This latest Piper episode is just the same, except he obviously never suffered fatal injuries. They must be made to follow the same laws as us otherwise the people will react accordingly
Mark - Same in Manchester this afternoon for our anti lockdown rally. Massive turnout though. What makes me so sick about all this is, the big corporations like Macdonalds, Burger King, Greggs and Costa were all open and rammed with customers. Yet tiny shops like where my husband volunteers have all been shut. Some have spent money they can ill afford on plastic screens and safety measures and still have had to close, while these 'big boys' are still raking it in big time.
That’ seems to be part of “the plan “ same in London .walk up Oxford st all the big name stores are still open ,walk around soho ,covent Garden, etc all the little indie shops
are empty shells . They put stickers and posters on the windows to make it look like they are still open . Just take a peep and you will see empty rooms where someone used to run a shop etc , utter fuckery . Look at furlough. They don’t want people back to work ,there is no work to go back to for the vast majority of people. They want you in universal credit etc and then you will be under their control or you get no money .
social credit system is just around the corner . No vaccine no money . It already happens in Australia. No flu vaccine no dole .
All wars are political wars. My father enlisted at 16 !! My sister has all his medals. They had spines of steel !!
I don’t think the small shops know what to do as they don’t seem to be banding together to fight back. Plus they are frightened of the fines It’ll bankrupt them. They are between a rock and a hard place!!
I’ve had a walk around M&S looking at all the clothes etc. It’s one rule for one and another for the small shops etc!
2 million have joined Parler this weekend, from Twitter because of the banning on free speech. Twitter has gone down in the rankings.
Maybe we need to do a major
high jack of Amazon and get their profits down!!
Wars transcend politics. The bush family supplied the Germans with the fuel additive that enabled the ’doodle’ bombs! Says it all really
Many shops and businesses wont lift a finger whilst receiving their free (?) money. The quantity of ‘zombie businesses’ is staggering and exactly as planned. This is one part that I don’t really have much of an issue with. Only the handling of it disgusts me.
The vaccines, fear mongering and treating us like cattle are the main items I have an issue with. If you want out of the other contracts, it’s fairly simple to do but these are just plain coercion. 🤔
My Grandfather and Great Uncle made the ultimate sacrifice in The Great War along with tens of millions of others, and over 80 million died in WW2, all to preserve and guarantee our freedoms.
Seeing those creatures in "government", the Windsors and especially the eldest son of the Monarch wearing poppies to honour that host of The Dead sickens me to the stomach. They are part of The Cult out to destroy our very freedoms.
The police are despicable and totally out of control and I am appalled to see them having the brazen gall to wear poppies. Their level of intelligence and integrity was displayed when Ben, the piper who was assaulted by them in Whitehall and later arrested(!!) , asked one of the stasi what happened in 1815, to which the reply was that he didn't know as he wasn't born until 1993!!!
Unbelievable!
I too feel that sickening feeling in my stomach, I feel exactly the same as you about the leeches that hang on and then prey on us when it suits them. I know a guy who served on HMS Hermes (I think it was ) served alongside Andrew, what a pig of a man. When the television showed him rescuing the Welsh Guards off of the Sir Gallahad, my friend was one of the 12 helicopter pilots assigned to surround Andrew when he rescued one guy for the cameras. They should have been rescuing their comrades, not making sure that Andrew was never in danger. They make me sick I must admit
