Hi all. Just wanted to know if any of your local hospitals have re-instated hospital visiting?
According to NHS England restrictions were lifted on 5th June, but when I went to hospital on Monday our local hospital still had visiting suspended and have said they will not be re-introduced for the "very forseeable future".
Is this another case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing? I can understand restrictions being in place as in some cases the whole family and the dog visits! But surely to stop visits indefinitely, as things ease, without limitations seems a bit much.
I am due heart surgery cancelled throughout all this, but I have said I can't go through this without my husband being able to visit, so it looks like it won't be happening this year. I know this is how it has been for Covid patients etc since lockdown, but to me seems another reason to stop something and blame it on Covid.
The NHS are loving being celebrated for doing sweet FA, no one should be going into hospital without assurance that they can be visited by at least one person.
