Hi
I have been thinking about things and I keep seeing the 'peaceful' protests, which I completely agree with in every way but after seeing the Police charging, goading and trying everything within their power to create problems, I began to think in a 'different' light.
Now I fully agree that if things can be sorted peacefully, so much the better but I am seeing our country being plunged into deeper and deeper darkness. In fact it almost mirrors the period between the two wars in Germany, with the result that a dictator eventually gained power and started to impose impossible edicts on certain groups of the population, with increasing barbarity and with devestating effects worldwide (sounding familiar yet?)
These are my thoughts. When in 1939, this country had seen enough of this German guy persecuting most of Europe, we tried to reason with him, he had none of it. In fact our prime minister of the time was shown waving pieces of paper, claiming 'peace in our time' and effectively did everything he could to appease the German leader.
A little later it was decided that appeasement never works.
We, as a country decided that violence was the only answer left and we went to war. This tends to be quite violent!
Now, bringing things up to date, we are allowing a very similar regime, albeit using much more subtle techniques but still achieving similar results - the oppression of the people, causing death and miser, through lies and deceit and for no reason other than to achieve total power over the population.
This is my question:
Why did the people accept that we had to go to war in 1939 to stop such a regime in another country but when this self same regime is adopted in our own country, we complain about it, even protest and March to show our disapproval but under no circumstances is it being considered to use force to stop this regime.
Why is using force to protect ourselves and our way of life so wrong?
How long do we allow this to continue, ie do we wait for the 'showers
