My poem...
A new day, a new rule, a new guidance.
What can we take? What can we buy? Where can we go?
Who can we see? Who can we physically talk to? How far can we travel?
No one knows? Nothing is clear.
We can't even hug the ones, we hold so dear.
Another day inside, no help at the door.
Another day homeschooling, no peers for our daughters.
What can we do? Where can we walk?
No one knows? Nothing is clear.
We can't even hug the ones, we hold so dear.
A new dawn, a new leak, a new lie.
Who cares? Who takes note? I'm alone and my family cries.
Another foodbank delivery needed. Some more vouchers to hand.
No one knows? Nothing is clear.
We can't even hug the ones, we hold so dear.
Numbers are changing. Virus is changing.
Sources for both are new. However, we are beating this.
My mind screams no. Society does not care. Numbers around town are rising.
No one knows? Nothing is clear.
We can't even hug the ones, we hold so dear.
Who are policing us? Who watches the ones at the top?
Nothing can be done. No one is bothered.
It's up to us. Love thy neighbour. Report breaches.
No one knows? Nothing is clear.
We can't even hug the ones, we hold dear.
I'm at home pondering life. Worrying about life.
Seeing the path ahead of me levelling off.
No one to help. No one to talk to. Who can help me?
No one knows? Nothing is clear.
We can't even hug the ones, we hold so dear.
Look after the rich. Their life is valuable.
We at the bottom are left to ourselves.
Nowhere to go. No-one to see. No-one to talk to.
No one knows? Nothing is clear.
We can't even hug the ones, we hold so dear.
Today, I look out and see life as is.
My future is locked down, my mind screams no.
Mountain of worries, no one around. My mind shouts. No one around.
No one knows? Nothing is clear.
We can't even hug the ones we hold so dear.
