Hi Cli, I'm afraid all communication via the Surrey private chat is now suspended due to website problems. Please see my latest post on this thread if you still want to stay in the loop.
Hi Duncan, would you be able to have a go at using the Members' Chat, which takes the form of a red box in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. It doesn't always appear, so you may need to refresh the page a few times.

Welcome Ahdel and Howard to the Surrey group. I've added you both to the group chat. I've added you, too, Jon, in case you want to keep up to speed with what we're doing.
Hi all, redhill resident here. I've been trying to do my bit on an interpersonal level and making some small headway persuading people I know, but as we backslide towards lockdown number two my cynicism about the efficacy of protests seems like a luxury I'll have to give up. Would appreciate being added to the local groupchat, thanks in advance.
Hi EG, I think Locksley's the one to do the group chat adding. Good to hear you've been making small headway. I often find it to be hard work, though I'm sure it's possible!
I've also been making quite a lot of headway. People are starting to question things, at least far more than back in March/April. I find if you calmly and clearly express your views and (more importantly) why you think that, the research you've done etc. and still remain respectful if someone has a different opinion that works well.
We had a protest in Southampton yesterday. There were only a few of us. But we made a LOT of noise and got quite a bit of interest. We had a few banners and gave out some leaflets. There is a new telegraph group to try and get a bit more momentum and get some more protests going.
For the benefit of any new members, the Surrey group has met twice now. While we're still small - only eight of us have met physically so far - we are expanding. Anyone who'd like to join us should register their interest here and they'll be added to the private chat.
On Sunday, 18th October, we staged small-scale local events in Guildford and Croydon with the aim of engaging with the public. In handing out leaflets, I believe we were successful in raising awareness of lockdown dissent among the more open-minded members of the public. A full report from the event can be read on Lockdown Sceptics (scroll down to 'Local Lockdown Protests'): https://lockdownsceptics.org/2020/10/19/
We hope to stage more similar events across more Surrey towns in future. If you're interested in participating or would like any advice on staging something similar in your area, please get in touch with me via the Members' Chat.

Hi Ahdel, not sure if you're the only one. There are certainly others nearby. Locksley's the man to ask really, though I follow this thread.
Hi, I'm in Sutton. Been a member of KBF for a while but only recently saw the forum.
