Has anybody else had problems making legitimate claims for holidays cancelled due to the 'plandemic'?
I ask because for the last three months I've been trying to legitimately claim against SAGA Ins for a holiday that was cancelled. Every step of the way I have had requests for more information, then a delay, then a further info request and so on. Trying to talk to anybody on the phone has been near impossible. One call resulted in me being told they were very sorry but couldn't help because the underwriters were responsible for claims. This despite Saga declaring everything was in order and I should be due a refund. Now they claim I have to complain to the underwriters - nothing to do with Saga, who apparently pass on people's complaints but don't make the information publicly available.
I planned to go to Sorrento in May - staying in a hotel and a villa during the trip. I got flight refunds via Easyjet but not refunds for the hotel - which is closed - or the villa - and am now in dispute with them. Saga don't want to know. I have heard of others having difficulties with travel insurance companies - is this happening on a wider scale?
Update - my claim has now gone to the complaints department of the underwriters - it's only taken 3 months and is still not settled. It seems that we will end up writing to the Ombudsman - with yet further delay. Do not use SAGA or any associated companies is my only recommendation at the moment.
i had a 2 week tour of the west coast of america booked late april. Expedia were very good in refunding all hotels even those with a non-refund clause. Virgin held my flights over for 2 years which was ok at the time, but now i think I'll probably lose those, although i did pay on my barclaycard so that is an option for a refund. Tried to claim on my insurance for 3 internal flights (who point blank refused a refund) My insurance was with the post office.(note to self, never get insurance from ther PO again) they refused a refund on my internal flights becuase they said i wasn't quarantined and could therefore take the flights, even though i was indeed in lockdown in the UK. W**kers! forgot about them till a couple of weeks ago when i realised i could claim on my barclaycard. Result, so far I've got one of the flights money back, AMerican Airlines are being shitty for the other 2 though
