I have, many times attempted to email my local MP about the abuses that the lockdown has perpetrated against the people in his constituency. The most I ever got was that one of my emails had his secretary reply and say "can you confirm name and address", which I did and the MP still never responded. The rest, previously and subsequently, have been ignored even by his secretary. I have also tried to email other MPs, because they were involved in parliamentary groups of relevance to the sector where I work, showing how lockdown is desperately damaging within my job sector and how lockdown has been utterly un-necessary. I was hoping a carefully worded email might convert them to becoming lockdown sceptics. Not so much as an acknowledgement of response (possibly hiding behind a bullshit idea that MPs may only be contacted by constituents, which when discussing a matter of relevance to an MP's party or parliamentary group role clearly can't be the case). I'm pretty apolitical on the classical party divides thesedays, I care only for civil liberties now. So when I emailed my local tory I tried to sound like someone who would vote tory if he were to be nice back, adn when emailing MPs of other parties tried to sound like the demographic who'd cross the box for them if they'd but be a lockdown sceptic. Who else is it worth emailing to get anti-lockdown thinking being represented (and make plain the existence of a public desire for getting the greatest violation of civil liberties (Coronavirus Act 2020) our country has ever seen repealed this September)?
