If anyone knows anyone in the armed forces, now is the time to get in touch and get them onside. I think the last thing they would want to do is fight their own people - especially if they know they, and their families, will be ruled under the same regime as everyone else if we lose this "war".

Not to worry TT, I understood what you meant, and I'd thought too that it would be a change of scene. Initially I'd hoped for mainland Europe, though got put off by all the regs. like quarantine etc., so thought NI would be an alternative. Hopefully things will work out in some way.

Jong - Sorry I had the weekends mixed up. Hope it all unravels and you get some you-time with a change of scenery as a bonus.

...and re the document - I agree, very disconcerting and can envisage potential civil unrest in a 3rd world war-like situ, as you suggest. Yes, hopefully many will 'wake up' and come over to our side when they realise what's going on, I hope.

Jong - Very disconcerting document if what it says is implemented. I'd like to see this government ousted now and that is not likely unless someone out there knows something and proves me wrong. However, it may take civil unrest to start the ball rolling even if it is hard to acknowledge just now. I have always seen this problem as ending up being very much a 3rd world warlike situation and frequently wonder if our armed forces will rise up against their own when push comes to shove. Many are in the same situation as us with the same fears for their future, so will hopefully come over to our side to work for the same end result.

On a different note, did you manage a meetup at the weekend and managed to stay overnight?
