I just read that Boris has now decided that children in school are going to be required to wear masks in the areas that are currently in lockdown this is wrong in my view to allow this when there has been hardly any kids dieing of corona virus if they are so concerned about the spread what about all the other schools this makes me angry because of the long term damage this can do to peoples mental health and wellbeing shame on Boris Johnson I hope he does one decent thing and resigns everyone just say no this being enforced on young children I think everyone write to schools and voice your objections to this or whatever authority

Unfortunately it wont matter whether Boris Johnson is in charge or not. They will all be following the same agenda. Not sending the children and thus non compliance is the best stance. If we keep cowtowing to this tyranny it will only worsen.
Yeah your probably right about that it just makes no sense what they are doing people are going to suffer the consequences I would not allow a child if I had one to wear one they say about just wearing one in corridors not classrooms because the virus only spreads in corridor right
@Jason Tonks I agree. The only way to slow this madness is non compliance. There are still more of us than them but sadly, the campaign of terror has worked so well, that the majority have and will comply.
But I do see signs of decent.
I don't personally watch it but Carol Mcgiffen and Denise Welch, both of ITV's 'Loose Women' have both appeared on Talk Radio in the last 24 hours, saying that they are now skeptical of the media's fear propaganda and the numbers don't add up. I'd say that's their careers down the drain now.
Apparently, even Richard Madelley (Richard &Judy) is an avid lockdown skeptic and is refusing to return from France because of how grim the UK is right now.
I think for many, it's when household names like this question the narrative that the message might get through?
Hopefully????
@Sheila Burchell I really hope people start to wake up and see through the bs I get annoyed by mask condemers who feel they have the right to speak about people not wearing masks as if this is somehow a crime not to wear one
curtinj25 - Boris bowed to outside pressure as usual. The mask madness isn't going to end anytime soon. Crazy I know, but the fewer illnesses and deaths, the more draconian rules they bring out.
That is very true seems to be going along with a agenda its just a way to silence people how long is this madness going to go on for its stripping away peoples identity young children are supposed to go to school to learn how to interact and socialise in school what are they going to learn wearing masks what about teachers then are they going to teach with one on
The media and medical establishment must be licking their lips at the cowardice of Boris Johnson right now. They can’t believe their luck. They’ve probably realised by now that if they screech hysterically but in a co-ordinated fashion they can get him to agree to anything. Gone is the courageous Boris Johnson who took on the liberal establishment and won in the back end of last year (who can forget Geoffrey Cox’s magnificent speech in the Commons)! Instead we now appear to have Theresa May mark 2, a politician who will cave like a hot soufflé to any pressure group that shouts loud enough. In a way this is good news, because if we can influence and change public opinions on masks - even without the media’s help- then he will probably flip-flop back to his original position and the opinion polls would back him up. What he fails to understand though is a strong, successful leader doesn’t react to public opinion, he shapes public opinion by taking tough decisions based on deeply held beliefs. Margaret Thatcher would never have kowtowed to the rabid teachers, she would have relished the fight. I just wish Boris Johnson would wake up and remember that this attitude (and a very poor opposition) got him the 80 seat majority in the first place.
There is little or no evidence that children (and younger teenagers) spread the virus to the wider community. Yes, they can catch it, but their immune system quickly deals with it and they don’t pass it on to adults. This theory has been validated by many studies in our neighbouring countries (ie. Sweden, Germany, Switzerland) whose schools have been open for many months, that have reported no outbreak and extremely limited transmission. A Prime Minister with any guts would be shouting these facts from the rooftops to counter the insanity of the lockdown, just as he should have done instead of implementing the pointless, self-destructive earlier mask mandates. The psychological damage being done to children with this draconian nonsense will be much much greater than any miniscule improvements to their physical health, and if Boris Johnson doesn’t realise that very soon and change course he will certainly lose my vote!
@Mark Kennaird Boris isn't in charge, he looks like a dear in the headlights?
His comment about "they don't want me to say this" about the LNP fiasco was very telling. You don't need a foil hat to question who "they" are?
The alternative is even worse, Keir (I'll bend the knee even when I haven't really understood the Marxist agenda behind it) Starmer would have locked us down earlier and probably even worse like parts of Australia and New Zealand!
Something new has to come from all this pain. A new way, a real alternative and I dont see it coming from established politicians.
The same way alternative media is evolving, I think we need alternative politics.
But that requires the public to see enmasse, how truly corrupt and manipulative this lockdown has been and that politicians of all parties have either contributed to it directly or by omission.
We are not there yet and I keep asking myself where is the public's breaking point?
It wasn't stripping our rights and freedoms through house arrest, martial law, social distancing, masks, masks on kids, ruined holidays, the list goes on?
But miracles can take time I suppose? .....
He certainly wont be getting my vote some good points I wonder how we do change peoples opinion on masks people seemed so scared about either catching it or passing it on I wish more people would wake up and not just accept everything the government and media tell them
I refuse to wear a mask and have gone into several shops (not supermarkets) without one and not been challenged. I think it is dreadful to make children wear masks. For what purpose? They are not going to spread this disease and not likely to get it anyway as its main target is my age group (70+) and I am not walking around in fear of catching this virus. Life is for living not just for breathing - which you cannot do well in a mask anyway. Children will come to accept that mask-wearing is the norm and I suspect that this is why it is being imposed. They would like to make it the norm in the country for ever I am sure. We must just ignore these ridiculous rules they are imposing on our lives, which will never return to normal.
I agree!
Hi everyone, my daughter is going back to school on Thursday and we have been emailed the school's new behaviour policy. Here are some extracts: Students must obey, at all times, the one – way systems in place in the school buildings. Students will not be permitted to fill up their water bottles using the communal tap. Therefore, students must ensure they bring plenty of water into school each day.Students are encouraged to follow current government guidance on social distancing and wearing PPE on public transport when travelling to and from school. On the school site, students must wear face masks at all times, except when they are in lessons, or sitting chatting, or in dining areas. Therefore, during room changes and movement to and from dining areas and toilet facilities, face masks must be worn. While queuing for food in the dining areas, it will be acceptable to remove masks briefly, but they must be worn while moving and choosing food in the canteens. Students who wish to wear a face covering during lessons and in dining areas are welcome to do so.
I do not wish for my daughter to wear a face mask nor to apply any hand sanitiser; can anyone advise on this? Can I refuse and provide an 'exempt letter'?
I’m sorry you are going though this, all I can say is that if my children were still of school age I would not send them and would homeschool them. I know its easy for me to say as mine are grown up. But I just wanted you to be aware of my thoughts. This is a disgrace to human kind and I really hope you can sort something that goes along with your moral compass and not that of the school in question! Be thinking of you and anyone else in this situation. Take care now.
@TJC Thank you TJC, it's such a mad situation and as my daughter is 13, she does not want to feel different from the others i.e. not wearing a mask...Home schooling could be an option but she wants to go back to school to be with her friends! I feel so powerless at present and not supported by her dad who thinks we need to comply with the headteacher's decisions.
Princenoir - Sorry, I don't have children, so I can't really help you there. This is what I have read. 'In England, pupils will only have to wear masks if they go to school in an area where transmission of the virus is high and local lockdown restrictions are in place. Outside of these areas, the Government has said schools can make their own decisions. Children will not be required to wear masks in classrooms, and primary school pupils are completely exempt.' Please do have a look at the guidance on-line yourself. I think there is a possibility of parents being fined for not sending their children back to school, but I've seen nothing about fines for children not wearing masks. It's all very confusing and muddled, like all the recent legislation that the Government has brought out. Good luck to you Princenoir! ❤️
Thank you Grumpy Cat, I will look at the legislation in more details. This is so demoralising!
