I saw a video of Piers Corbyn being arrested in Sheffield they were being very aggressive and man handling him is this how we treat a elderly man peacefully protesting absolute disgrace police are supposed to protect the public from criminals they do nothing about people tearing down a statue yet a man who speaks up for human rights they arrest lets all give our full support to this man I want to hear Jeremy Corbyn come out and defend his brother
Yes i’ve seen the YouTube video and the behaviour of the police was (once again) very strange. The crowd did a good job of protecting Piers and kept chanting “Leave him alone!” at the two hapless police officers, but I guess in the end reinforcements arrived and he was arrested. For what reason I really don’t know, the crowd seemed to be just under 30 people, and they weren’t posing a physical threat to anybody. Very noticeable as well that the police were very sheepish at first when trying to get through the crowd, and didn’t seem to communicate clearly why they intended to arrest him. Even with the loud chanting they could’ve used a megaphone, but it’s almost as if, heaven forbid, they knew there was no good reason for the arrest and were sneakily trying to avoid witness testimony. I think that’s why they arrested him in London last week, because he let his guard down at the end of the rally and there were no witnesses to hear what the police were saying.
If we had competent, fair police chiefs then these individual coppers (like the thug who pepper sprayed the Liverpool train passenger) would be reprimanded or sacked. But that’s not going to happen because the police are instructed by politicians to behave this way, but only towards certain protestors of course.
As for Jeremy Corbyn, the only way Piers could get help from his brother would be if his next protest speech was about ‘Jewish bankers planning to buy and sell our NHS so they can drop nuclear weapons on innocent Hamas terrorists’. If Piers were to be arrested after making a speech like this, then it might pique his brother’s interest, but it’s probably a good thing he won’t intervene. In my opinion the involvement of Jeremy Corbyn would probably be the kiss of death for StandUp and KBF, I would much prefer him to campaign for the other side.
