I was wandering do you think we have the right to make a complaint against the behaviour of the police on the rally on Saturday from the footage it looked as though there was unprovoked attacks on innocent protestors one man being knocked unconscious who could we write to about that just a thought
curtinj25 - Anna Brees has been in touch with the Metropolitan Police asking them to justify their actions. She was interviewing one of the protesters on YouTube. I wasn't at the rally, but for those that were and who want to make a complaint, you can do so at the Metropolitan Police Website.
fantastic I real reporter and journalist at last I do feel their actions were not justified I was there I did see at one point a man being grabbed and being thrown in the first clashes and saw the footage of the police all charging into the crowd towards the end but I left then I felt there behaviour was unprofessional and intimidating
curtinj25 - I read a previous post of yours which said you a bit unsure whether to go to the rally or not on Saturday. Don't go if you feel unsafe, or as you did last weekend go and then leave if you feel things are getting out of hand. I have read quite a few of your posts, and I understand your situation.
Personally, I'm very excited and can't wait to get back to London and meet all those lovely protesters again. Some really great human beings out there. I hope it goes peacefully, but I feel the mood is changing, as we are now seen as a real threat and a force to be reckoned with. Grumpy Cat will be wearing a 'Catzilla' t shirt and a woolly hat. Please come up and say hello if you see me folks.
Did you get his/her number?
That doesn't matter in my experience. In past I was physically shown as black and blue and stonewall when ex called them. Alot think they above law and relish this conflict.
@curtinj25 There is no point complaining as the complaint is then looked at by the Police or constable involved itself, so they do everything in their power to dismiss it.
The best option is to immediately bring private prosecution, complaints against the police are waste of time.
Have a look at Ron Warner's website Crime Bodge, you might find some answers:
We can prosecute the police if we have proof of the incident, a video. Making an official complaint to the police itself, though it may don't work, it is a preliminary procedure that has to take place before prosecution. It is not a waste of time because it is part of the process before prosecution.
@Maria Hannah It might well be, I'm not aware, but be mindful of time limits applicable to private prosecutions, they (the Police) would try to extend their complaint handling and obstruct the process so to see you going over the time limits (I believe 6 months).
To all - Just to let you know that Kate and Fiona were arrested a couple of days ago this time by CID outside Parliament during a very small demonstration and were released last night at 10pm after spending 30 hrs in a cell. Fiona's flat was searched and her computer removed, This news is from the horses mouth once removed. I am not sure at this point what their restrictions will be so will try and keep you posted. As some of you will be going to the demo tomorrow I say to you watch your backs as they are on to the situation and not only police and army may be there but possibly plain clothes officers. If Fiona is able to let you know it will probably be on FB. Take care out there.
TwinkleToes - I'm not quite sure who Kate and Fiona are. I'm just off to get my train to London, so I will be off here for a while. I will be taking my trusty little camera with me to film any 'wrongdoing' by the police. I see they are taking a leaf out of Daniel Andrew's book and raiding people's homes now. I didn't think it would take them too long to follow suit with their 'Stasi' tactics. Wish me well on my 'maskless' journey down South. I'll report anything I find on here as soon as. You know anything I say will be direct from the horse's mouth, or in my case the 'cat's mouth'. 😃
All prayers to you and protestors, I admire you all. Much
I wish you all the best I decided not to go just because I have listened to all the speakers and I feel the best way I can help is by writing poems and songs and spreading a peaceful message be great to hear how it goes it is so important for people to stand up to this kind of repressive system in whatever way they can I cant believe they are actually raiding peoples homes the cheek of it how would they like it if we raided downing street and Buckingham palace there is a lot more to find there ha ha
Grumpy C. Sorry my fault>. Kate Sherimani (think that is right) is affiliated to Piers Corbyn's team and Fiona in her PA. Fiona is a friend of my son and was one of those arrested & charged with Piers Corbyn because they were at the first demon at Hyde Park and the court case comes up in December. Fiona (and maybe Kate) are part of the team that are organisers of the rally tomorrow and many of those that have gone before so the police are now targeting them and it is getting nasty. Good luck tomorrow hope you don't have to use your camera except for good thing and stay safe. I am sure you can hold your own.
I have heard of Kate in the news.shes being painted as a villian. It's horrendous how protestors and dissenters are being treated like terrorist s. I feel sick at how dark and evil our country/world has become. Those poor women must feel terrorised. These tactics on public is inhumane. I wish more public figures would publicly hold our leaders to account.
@AutonomousAmy Update - Kate has been bailed until 5th November, not allowed near or in London at all. Fiona has been charged with causing disruption by organising demonstrations, her case to be held at The Old Bailey sometime god knows when,
fortunately the list of waiting cases is enormous and a lot can happen before then. However it does carry a prison sentence. Both were treated appallingly by the police whilst in custody for 30 hours. Both are in good spirits. Sorry to hear about your brush with ignorance last evening and in front of the children too. Men behaving badly is not a pretty site especially when pissed. Somebody should knock his block off, don't depend on the police they are too busy looking the other way. Why he is wearing a mask is anybody's guess, pickled with booze he could ward off evil spirits 😀 if they came calling.
Thank you for update, it comes as no surprise they do this before tomorrow - it's all so wrong wrong wrong.these protests on macro and micro scale are not political but for human freedom, liberty and truth. The evil and force to oppress and suppress this sickens me. I hope those two ladies and all the others attacked in this way are protected and vindicated. Thanks twinkle toes, I have had a bad day today, thankfully kids dad have them this weekend (he came and got them as i refuse to go on buses now, and he got my shopping as my anxiety was bad today and not up for goin out) so soon as they left I burst into tears and just lay on sofa . My middle son he been worried and calling me to check on me (he's 6 but so compassionate) but I told him hey, it was wrong but don't worry we will keep praying and keep on fighting on . We will succeed and we will win this. Haha, yes maybe it was steroid madness affecting his pea brain but spirits definitely playing a part I hope he woke up today and changes his ways....I also hope I never bump into him again . Thanks for the smile, first one today so thank you X
AnonomousAmy - By the way I agree with everything you say and I feel that things in lovely Scotland and Aberdeen which I know very well are slightly worse, only slightly, than here. I didn't think this all would come so close to home and I am furious at this government's treatment of our laws in general, dumped and not fit for purpose, its really is time for change. My hopes are pinned on Simon's success on the 29th October, and civil disobedience if Christmas is cancelled, it may be time to turn our fight up to match the tyranny levelled at us by those whose place is nothing less than being brought to justice and to bring back capital punishment
I hope Simon succeeds too. Yes wasnt a fan of sturgeon before (but we dont have strong opposition) but now positively loathe her....she really does enjoy power too much. Scottish people are being treated like brain-dead cattle :( no one allowed to oppose or even counter....not one person have I seen in any form being able to counter...that's obscene.
AnonomousAmy - Sorry you had a bad day, it does get to you now and again even for the most positive of us. Your children sound lovely and it is them that we have to fight for, oh! boy are we trying but we have such a big hill to climb. I feel change coming but at what cost and I hope tomorrow goes smoothly and no-one gets hurt not only for them but for the worrying time the families back home will have. We have to keep up the pressure because we have too much to lose and demo's are one good way of saying NO. Always remember that we are here when those who think they know it all, but know nothing at all dare to invade your space sometimes with life changing consequences and we will be here with an available shoulder. Take good care, all of you.
