I am opening a barbers shop franchise in a few weeks. I know, crazy time to start a business but I'd already locked everything in place before this panicdemic hit and could only delay things not back out so here I am.
What I am struggling to work out is what are the actual legal requirements on my business related to coronavirus and what is just a non-enforceable government suggestion.
I don't mind keeping as much social distancing as is reasonably possible and putting a bottle of hand sanitizer on the counter but, for example, with collecting customer information for test and trace: am I leaving myself open to legal action if I refuse to do this?
Hello, There is a website called http://www.laworfiction.com/blog/ which I believe was set up by Francis Hoar (barrister) to help the public separate laws from guidance. Good luck with your new venture!
