We can unseat this government now. The UK local elections are due on the 6th May 2021. The local elections are a litmus test of the nations attitude toward to the incumbent conservative parties government. It is the next available means of holding this government to account. We can send a clear message to this government by divesting them of all local control and voting for an alternative party. At this stage which party one votes for is irrelevant, so long as it is not Boris. That message having been sent we can amplify that message.
Secondly we can send a written oath to our local MP's that we solemnly declare we retract our support for this government and faithfully undertake that will not be voting for that MP in the coming election and will work and proselytise to the extent of our individual means to ensure all members of the electorate are recruited in this measurable act of retraction of our support for the current government. This will stir the pot for a back bench revolt, as MP's fear losing their highly paid jobs, and opposition from within for Boris to contend with and secondly it will lay the groundwork for ousting government by means of the provisions in the Fixed Term Parliament Act 2011.
With sufficient electorate support and momentum the prescribed actions above will enable the opposition to table a motion for an early election or indeed a motion of no confidence in this government.
In short we can undermine the government at local level and unsettle the government at national level and perhaps bring about the necessary change we need to right the wrongs of this current governing by diktat.
The seeds to this action are small but with the support of every KBF member it can become a resounding voice of opposition. All that is needed is for you to like this posting, forward/share this message with everyone you know and re-post it on KBF to every forum and group. Then request a copy of the letter of oath to be sent to your MP. Two small acts upon which great change can be built. Please support this now, as our actions now will prepare the way to act effectively and decisively later.
The ultimate aim is to create an alternative party and garner sufficient support before the next general election. These actions now will add gravitas and force to that party's intentions.
Thank you for supporting this effort and bear in mind as you act:
“People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.”
There is not opposition to vote for. Probably not even election next May, if they extend the coronavirus act or perhaps one election based on voting by post only that will ended up on the biggest elction fraud of history. There is only one way and the most efficient one too, protest every day outside of Parliament until they remove the coronavirus act.
I agree that this government deserves a giant size 20 boot in the face, and hopefully they’ll receive a very bloody nose. However to say it doesn’t matter which party we vote for is a recipe for disaster. Think about it, Labour, Lib Dems, and the SNP are all even more authoritarian than this government. The only criticisms they’ve offered are the government didn’t lock down early enough and for long enough, mask mandates don’t go far enough, testing needs to be accelerated (blah blah blah!). Do you think if Boris loses seats to these parties in next year’s local elections he’s going to relinquish these powers? I would say definitely not, seeing as the other parties haven’t given a monkey’s toss about civil liberties all the way through, he would take it as a sign that the public want to be controlled with even more authoritarian measures if they vote for the other main parties who would run on this platform. You only have to listen to idiots like Richard Bergon spouting off about implementing a more extreme second lockdown to understand Labour’s position on Coronavirus, and why it would be a very bad idea to encourage them.
The only option I can see is voting a libertarian candidate, or if there isn’t one then spoil the ballot paper. All the main parties deserve a bloody nose (Brexit party included)!
Wow! Superbly written.
