This afternoon, whilst out for a walk with my wife, we met an elderly lady who lives in a nearby street. What she told us sickened me to the core. When we returned home, I ripped into my local tory MP again, by email. The story - and the effect it had on me, is best described by copying the contents of that email here:
"Having finished my work earlier than expected this week, this afternoon, my wife and I decided to go for a walk. We'd only got to the end of our street when we met an acquaintance of my wife's - an elderly lady who lives alone, in a nearby street. She suffers from loneliness, and did so prior to the present coronavirus hysteria. But now she feels desperately alone: she used to get together with a friend once or twice a week - their only contact with another human being, other than a daily walk to the shop for groceries. That has all stopped.
We asked why, and she explained that she tried to "obey the rules," and didn't want to risk her friend or herself breaking the law. We attempted to reassure her that neither she nor her friend would be clapped in irons if they met up for a walk, for example. She looked doubtful and I am sure she disbelieved us. Underlying that though, it was obvious that she is quite literally terrified. Her only company, throughout this lunacy, has been her television set - churning out government sponsored scare-mongering garbage through the main-stream media, day in, day out.
I became aware of the SAGE document entitled '25 options for increasing adherence to social distancing measures' several months ago. Although I was shocked at the depravity of some of the tactics recommended, it came as no surprise to witness this lunatic administration enacting them.
It was only today that I saw at first hand, what you shower have done: the permanent psychological damage you have inflicted upon just one generation - those trusting, but not worldly enough to realise that politicians are completely devoid of scruples or conscience. But I doubt you lose a minute's sleep, worrying about the consequences of your boss's sick thirst for power and the odious scoundrel Hancock's enacting of further additions - via twitter on occasions - as and when the fancy takes him; quarantine 'laws' being introduced late at night; 'penalties' for transgressing petty and nonsensical dictats multiplied many times - once again in order to scare those naive enough to obey them.
One recommendation in that nasty little SAGE document keeps coming back to me: [appendix B, option 2] "Use media to increase sense of personal threat." Disgusting; absolutely nauseating. And the above example is the result - multiplied literally millions of times over.
In your position, I would feel compelled to resign from an administration that has effectively enacted fascism in what was once a proud democracy. It is unfit for office and the sooner the British public is rid of you, the better."
[I signed then added an extract from Cromwells' speech to the long parliament: "...You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance."]
This is happening all around the country, suicides, depression, anxiety...there is something terribly wrong with our country. Boris, I did not vote for this.
Fantastic letter! I see fear in peoples eyes above their masks, it is so sad and dreadful that they have fallen for all the lies.
It is interesting the SAGE document talks about using the media to install fear. If we are in the middle of a genuine pandemic and there was clear evidence of this why would the government have to rely on the media to whip up fear.
UKFM well said and I can feel the anger, hope your MP does too. As you say it depends if he sleeps well at night.
its a sickening fact that we no longer have a health system...Baronness Dido is prolly just another paid Soros Shill here to enforce yet more Nazi rule on us all...
