A fundamental protection the law should provide is criteria and threshold. For instance, the criteria to be charged with arson is that you deliberately or recklessly cause a fire. Laws often have thresholds before someone commits an offence. For instance, to be charged with speeding you must go over the speed limit on the road you are driving. If laws didn't have criteria or thresholds, it would be a recipe for tyranny. For instance, if speeding was illegal but a country had no speed limits, you could be charged with speeding regardless of the speed you were driving.
I feel that lockdowns are a major threat to our rights as draconian laws can be introduced without any criteria as to what characteristics a disease must possess eg mode of transmission, how infectious the disease is, fatality rate, severity of symptoms. As a result of this lockdowns can be introduced regardless of the characteristics of a disease. Do you agree with this.
