I was pondering on why so many people were so quickly to give away there rights of freedom, beyond the doom mongering rhetoric of the Government and media. I wonder - and I post this as a question - if part of it is because my generation (50's), the one above and the one below have never had to fight for it. Have we taken it for granted? If we had to fight a war for the liberty of Europe and the UK would we value it more and not allow anybody to give it away? People in this site will know how important it is to preserve such things but I feel there are plenty around us who do not.

Most people are 1 of 2 categories. Group 1 know this is evil but are frightened to speak out against it. The other know it is evil and fully support it (because they are not what they appear see wheat and tares bible parable). Finally, a small number know exactly what is going on and who is orchestrating it, unfortunately the truth is so mind boggling that group 1 would never believe it.

This government is one of 192 governments who have signed up to implement the United Nations millennium goals (MDG's). Effectively creating a unified undemocratic One World power hub which has rendered our government merely an administrator, having franchised out the major government decisions to this unelected body and their agency, the WHO. This, I believe makes them illegitimate under common law.

Geekbear! You ask the million dollar question? I personally think you are not far wrong in your theory and I have posted earlier on this forum that I thought the same. We have lost whatever the makeup of a backbone was that we had during 2 world wars mainly because they were so horrendous and costly in human terms that afterwards there was an understanding that lessons would be learned, but sadly not so. We became part of Europe and then the Nanny State took hold leaving us in control of the Governments that followed and now that power has taken hold in a way we never ever thought would happen. We have become a modern day Sodom & Gomorrah and its been allowed to happen deliberately merging very nicely into becoming the world they planned and they now expect us to live in. Sadly they also took away National Service, a great form of discipline and although it was 3 years out of your life it installed the roots of the balance of life. All governments that found themselves in power have been mindless in their approach didn't manage to re-install a patriotism which is one of the basics of that backbone. But Simon and his team are at court on Thursday, one of many actions coming through to stop this Govt and try and get some sense of normality back. Heads must start to roll and soon, get those masks off get a life and take risks which is part of living.
I think fear has stopped people being rational. They are so afraid, they are not prepared to think for themselves or question. Following the government makes them feel safe but as Benjamin Franklin said "Those who give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safely, deserve neither Liberty or Safety." I also think you are right we have never had to fight for our freedom, it has been handed to us on a plate. Another quote "Freedom is never more than a generation from extinction. We didn't pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same." President Ronald Regan. Yes, I think we have taken our freedom for granted and many people are totally unaware that they are loosing it because they are focused on the virus and their own personal safety. Not looking at the bigger picture. We must keep fighting and preserving this precious and valuable gift of FREEDOM for our children and grandchildren, so they can do the same.
