This is the reply I received when I challenged a private hospital ( no NHS service at all) over their insistence on wearing a mask, having temperature taken and even a covid test before treatment. I did not consent despite my circumstances - which have deteriorated during my house imprisonment. This contravenes the UNESCO Declaration of Bioethics and Human Rights:
"Regarding your email of complaint, firstly we were sorry to read that you have persistent pain in your spine and you feel that we have breached your human rights.
Please be assured that we are not denying you treatment and we fully respect your rights to freedom of expression, however in these challenging and difficult times, at Spire South Bank Hospital we are adhering to the Government, Public Health England and Spire Hospitals policy in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and we are therefore following their guidance in personal protective equipment (PPE) and advice in healthcare.
Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention and unfortunately at present we are unable to revise our policy.
Kind regards"
